Black carbon tonneau watch with a red and green X and a yellow strap on a dark walnut desk beside a fountain pen

7.8MM THIN · 35 GRAMS · AUTOMATIC

Thirty-Five Grams, On A Yellow Strap

A case of layered fibre instead of metal, an open movement inside it, and a strap that stretches on.

Most watches remind you they are there. The case knocks the edge of the desk, the weight pulls it round to the inside of the wrist, and by the afternoon you have taken it off.

This one comes to 35 grams. The case is layered carbon fibre and quartz fibre rather than metal, the movement inside is skeletonised down to its frame, and the strap is bright yellow elastic textile that slides over the hand and stays put. At 7.8 mm thick it sits flat under a cuff.

Put it on in the morning, and the next time you think about it is when someone asks about the yellow.

THE DIAL

A Red And Green X, And Nothing Behind It But Movement

No dial plate. A black flange, a cross of red and green, and the wheels turning underneath.

Where a dial would be, there is an opening. A black flange follows the barrel curve of the case, a thin white rim around it, with twelve round white dots set into it for the hours.

Across the middle runs an X of four bars, each edged in silver: red out to ten and to seven, green curving up to two, dark grey down to four. Behind and between them sits the movement, dark grey wheels, bridges and screws, skeletonised so you can see down into it, with flashes of yellow deep inside.

The hands are brushed silver with white tips, cut open along their length so they hide as little as possible. At three, the crown pairs a white collar with a black rubber grip moulded with small raised domes.

How A Thirty-Five-Gram Case Is Made

The weight is decided by the material, one 45-micron layer at a time.

STAGE 01

Two Fibres, Alternating

Carbon fibre and quartz fibre are laid one over the other, in turn. Each layer is 45 microns thick, thinner than a human hair.

STAGE 02

Hundreds Of Layers

They are stacked by the hundred until the block is deep enough to hold a case, black carbon and the lighter quartz fibre alternating all the way through.

STAGE 03

Cured At 120 °C

The stack is cured at 120 °C under 6 bar of pressure, until the layers have set into one solid material, then shaped into the tonneau, where the grey waves come to the surface.

STAGE 04

The Open Movement

A skeletonised automatic movement about 3.6 mm thick goes in, with the black flange, the twelve white dots and the red and green X over it.

STAGE 05

Yellow On Black

A see-through caseback closes it, and the bright yellow elastic strap goes on.

2-Year Warranty. 30-Day Refund.

Wear it for a month. If it is not what you expected, send it back for a full refund — no conditions, no restocking fee.

Why It Wears So Light

Most watches add weight to feel valuable. This one takes it away: layered carbon instead of metal, an open movement instead of a dial, and a yellow strap that stretches on. It asks $1,399.

Frequently Asked Questions

check_box

What is the case made of?

Hundreds of layers of carbon fibre and quartz fibre, laid alternately, each 45 microns thick, cured at 120 °C under 6 bar. The layers show as grey waves through the black, so no two cases are the same.

check_box

How thin and how heavy is it?

7.8 mm thick and 35 grams, light enough that you forget it is on and slim enough for a shirt cuff.

check_box

What movement does it have?

A skeletonised self-winding automatic movement, about 3.6 mm thick. It winds itself as you wear it, needs no battery, and you can see it from the front and through the see-through caseback.

check_box

Does it glow in the dark?

The twelve hour dots, the bar toward three and the tips of the hands carry white luminous fills.

check_box

What strap does it come on?

A bright yellow elastic strap in woven textile. It stretches over the hand and sits close to the wrist, with no buckle.

check_box

Does it come in other colours?

Yes. The same ultra-thin skeleton tonneau comes in black carbon with orange, black carbon with blue and red, and a white case with blue and red.

check_box

Does it need a battery?

No. It is automatic — it winds from the motion of your wrist. Left off for a couple of days it stops, and a minute back on the wrist restarts it.

check_box

How long does delivery take?

Ten to eighteen days to most countries, fifteen to twenty-five inside Iraq. Shipping is free, tracked and insured, and you get the tracking number as soon as it leaves us.

check_box

Can I ask questions before I order?

Yes, and we would rather you did. Message the page on Facebook or Instagram — a real person answers, usually within the hour.
