7.8MM THIN · 35 GRAMS · AUTOMATIC
Thirty-Five Grams, Worn Like A Second Skin
A case of layered fibre instead of metal, an open movement inside it, and almost nothing left to weigh.
Most watches remind you they are there. The case knocks the edge of the desk, the weight pulls it round to the inside of the wrist, and by the afternoon you have taken it off.
This one comes to 35 grams. The case is layered carbon fibre and quartz fibre rather than metal, the movement inside is skeletonised down to its frame, and the strap is soft woven textile. At 7.8 mm thick it sits flat and stays where you put it.
Put it on in the morning, and the next time you think about it is when you want to know the time.

THE DIAL
An Orange X, And Nothing Behind It But Movement
No dial plate. A frame, a cross of orange, and the wheels turning underneath.
Where a dial would be, there is an opening. An orange frame edged in silver follows the barrel curve of the case, with twelve round white dots set into it for the hours.
Across the middle, two orange bars cross in an X, each edged in pale silver, and a short orange bar runs out to three. Behind and between them sits the movement — grey wheels, bridges and screws, skeletonised so you can see down into it.
The hands are brushed silver, cut open along their length so they hide as little as possible. At three, the crown carries the same orange as the dial, in a rubber grip moulded with small raised domes.
How A Thirty-Five-Gram Case Is Made
The weight is decided by the material, one 45-micron layer at a time.
Two Fibres, Alternating
Carbon fibre and quartz fibre are laid one over the other, in turn. Each layer is 45 microns thick — thinner than a human hair.
Hundreds Of Layers
They are stacked by the hundred until the block is deep enough to hold a case, black carbon and the lighter quartz fibre alternating all the way through.
Cured At 120 °C
The stack is cured at 120 °C under 6 bar of pressure, until the layers have set into one solid material.
Shaped Into A Tonneau
The barrel-shaped case is cut from the cured block. Cutting across the layers brings them to the surface as grey waves, so the pattern on every case is its own.
Thirty-Five Grams
The skeletonised automatic movement, about 3.6 mm thick, goes inside, with the crown and the orange textile strap. The finished watch weighs 35 grams.

What Thirty-Five Grams Changes
Laying a case down in hundreds of 45-micron layers is slow, exacting work, and it is what brings this tonneau down to 35 grams. It arrives checked and boxed, at $1,699.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does it really weigh 35 grams?
Does it really weigh 35 grams?
Yes, 35 grams. The case is layered carbon fibre and quartz fibre instead of metal, the movement is skeletonised down to its frame, and the strap is woven textile. There is very little left to weigh.
Is it a quartz watch?
Is it a quartz watch?
No. Quartz fibre is one of the two materials in the case. The movement is a high-precision automatic: it winds itself from the motion of your wrist and needs no battery.
What are the grey waves in the case?
What are the grey waves in the case?
The layers. The case is built from hundreds of alternating layers of carbon fibre and quartz fibre, each 45 microns thick, and shaping it brings their edges to the surface. The pattern forms differently every time, so yours is its own.
Can I see the movement working?
Can I see the movement working?
Yes, from both sides. There is no dial plate — the front is an open frame over the skeletonised movement — and the caseback is see-through.
Will it fit under a shirt cuff?
Will it fit under a shirt cuff?
Yes. It is 7.8 mm thick, and the movement inside is only about 3.6 mm of that, so the case sits flat on the wrist and a cuff closes over it.
What is the strap made of?
What is the strap made of?
Woven textile in bright orange, soft and light, in the same orange as the X on the dial and the grip on the crown.
Does it need a battery?
Does it need a battery?
No. It is automatic — it winds from the motion of your wrist. Left off for a couple of days it stops, and a minute back on the wrist restarts it.
How long does delivery take?
