Ultra-thin black carbon skeleton tonneau watch with blue and red details on a dark walnut desk beside a fountain pen

7.8MM THIN · BLACK CARBON · AUTOMATIC

7.8 mm, With An Automatic Inside

A self-winding movement about 3.6 mm thick, in a case built up from 45-micron layers.

Thin watches usually come with a trade-off: a battery where a movement should be, or a case too precious to wear every day.

This one starts with a high-precision automatic movement only about 3.6 mm thick, skeletonised so you can see into it. Around it goes a case of layered carbon fibre and quartz fibre, and the whole watch comes to 7.8 mm and 35 grams.

It sits flat on the wrist, slides under a shirt cuff without catching, and winds itself as you go about the day.

THE DIAL

Black Carbon, A Blue Stripe, A Red Stripe

An open frame, a silver X and two lines of colour over the moving parts.

Where the dial would be, there is an opening. A brushed silver frame follows the barrel curve of the case on a dark navy surround, with twelve round white dots for the hours.

A brushed silver X crosses it. On the right, one arm runs up toward two o'clock carrying a stripe of blue, and the other runs down toward four carrying a stripe of red — blue for the strap, red for the crown, both against the black of the case.

Through and around them is the movement itself: grey wheels and bridges, skeletonised and open. The brushed silver hands are cut open too, so they cover as little of it as they can.

How A Watch Gets Down To 7.8 mm

Every millimetre is settled from the inside out, starting with the movement.

STAGE 01

A Thin Movement

It begins with a high-precision automatic movement about 28.4 by 31.25 mm and about 3.6 mm thick — just under half the thickness of the finished watch.

STAGE 02

Opened Up

The movement is skeletonised, so the front of the watch is an open frame over it rather than a solid dial plate.

STAGE 03

Layers Of 45 Microns

The case is laid down in hundreds of alternating layers of carbon fibre and quartz fibre, each 45 microns thick.

STAGE 04

Cured At 120 °C And 6 Bar

Heat and pressure set the layers into one solid material, and the tonneau is shaped from it. The grey waves on the case are those layers, cut across.

STAGE 05

7.8 mm, 35 Grams

Movement, red crown and blue textile strap go on. The finished watch measures 7.8 mm thick and weighs 35 grams.

2-Year Warranty. 30-Day Refund.

Wear it for a month. If it is not what you expected, send it back for a full refund — no conditions, no restocking fee.

Frequently Asked Questions

check_box

How thin is it, exactly?

7.8 mm from the glass to the caseback. The skeletonised automatic movement inside is about 3.6 mm thick, just under half of that.

check_box

Is it a quartz watch?

No. Quartz fibre is one of the two materials layered into the case. The movement is a high-precision automatic: it winds itself from the motion of your wrist and needs no battery.

check_box

What are the grey lines in the black case?

The layers. The case is built from hundreds of alternating layers of carbon fibre and quartz fibre, each 45 microns thick, and where it is shaped their edges come to the surface as fine grey waves. No two cases carry the same pattern.

check_box

How is it different from the white version?

The dial, crown and strap are the same: silver X, blue and red stripes, red crown, blue strap. The case is where they part. This one is black, carbon fibre layered with quartz fibre; the white one is the quartz-fibre version of the same layered material.

check_box

Can I see the movement working?

Yes. The front is an open frame over the skeletonised movement, with no dial plate in the way, and the caseback is see-through.

check_box

What is the strap made of?

Blue woven textile, soft and light, to suit a watch that weighs 35 grams. The red crown and the red stripe on the dial sit against it.

check_box

Does it need a battery?

No. It is automatic — it winds from the motion of your wrist. Left off for a couple of days it stops, and a minute back on the wrist restarts it.

check_box

How long does delivery take?

Ten to eighteen days to most countries, fifteen to twenty-five inside Iraq. Shipping is free, tracked and insured, and you get the tracking number as soon as it leaves us.

check_box

Can I ask questions before I order?

Yes, and we would rather you did. Message the page on Facebook or Instagram — a real person answers, usually within the hour.
