LAYERED CARBON · SKELETON DIAL · 7.8 MM · AUTOMATIC
Black All The Way Through
A layered black-carbon tonneau, an open movement and a black strap: 35 grams, and not a touch of colour.
Take the colour off a watch and the eye goes to what it is made of. Here that is layered carbon: hundreds of layers of carbon fibre and quartz fibre, laid alternately, each 45 microns thick, cured at 120 °C under 6 bar.
Where the case is shaped, the layers surface as wavy silver-grey lines across the black, so the pattern on this case exists once. Eight light grey screws hold the bezel.
The case is 7.8 mm thin and the whole watch weighs 35 grams, so it sits on the wrist like a second skin.

THE DIAL
An Open Dial In Black
No dial plate: a black frame, a black X and the movement itself, open to the light.
There is no dial to hide behind. A matte black frame follows the tonneau opening, set with small silver-grey screws, and two broad black bars cross in an X from corner to corner.
Behind them the movement shows its frosted grey and bronze-grey wheels and bridges. The hands are black, cut open down their length so the movement shows through them too.
The crown is black, with a grip of small raised dots and a cross cut into its end, and the strap is black woven elastic.

Why The Black Works
Most skeleton watches use colour to frame the movement. This one leaves it out: black carbon, a black frame and X, black hands and a black strap, and the movement in grey at the centre. It weighs 35 grams and asks $1,399.
THE ALL-BLACK SKELETON SPEC
