BLACK thin-ply CARBON · ABOUT 8.5MM THICK · FLYING TOURBILLON
About 38 Grams, And You Forget It Is There
An open dial and a flying tourbillon, in a case lighter and thinner than most everyday steel watches.
Skeleton watches with this much going on in the dial tend to be thick and heavy. Every wheel and bridge has to fit somewhere, and usually it ends up in the height and the weight of the case.
This one is about 8.5 mm thick, and the tonneau curves to follow the wrist, so it sits down flat instead of perching on top, and a shirt cuff goes over it without catching.
The weight is the bigger surprise. The one-piece case is thin-ply carbon rather than steel, and the whole watch, strap included, comes to about 38 grams.

THE DIAL
Open To The Tourbillon
Rose gold, silver and pink under the crystal, framed in black carbon.
There is no dial plate. Inside a thin polished frame and a black flange of white strokes and triangles, the movement is on show: a large rose-gold wheel with curved spokes at the upper left, silver gear wheels to the right, and black bridges with two thin white lines, silver star-shaped screws and six bright pink jewels.
At six is the flying tourbillon: a round cage in a ring of fine silver teeth, crossed by a three-armed rose-gold bridge with a pink jewel at its centre.
Open-worked black hands with white luminous tips read the hours and minutes over it all. The blue crown and the blue woven strap are the only colour outside.
How The Black And Blue Tourbillon Tonneau Comes Together
The grain is set by the layers, and the layers are set before the case is cut.
Thin Sheets
Very fine sheets of carbon fibre are laid one on another until the stack is deep enough to hold a case.
Cut Through The Grain
The case is machined in one piece. Wherever the cutter crosses the layers, the grey-silver streaks appear.
The Open Dial
The skeleton movement goes in behind a thin polished frame: rose-gold wheel at the upper left, silver star screws, pink jewels.
The Tourbillon
The flying tourbillon sits at six under its three-armed rose-gold bridge, and the black open-worked hands go on.
Blue Last
The ribbed blue crown and the blue woven strap go on at the end, and every watch is checked by hand before it is boxed.

Why It Feels Like Nothing On The Wrist

No. It is black thin-ply carbon, and the grey-silver streaks are the edges of its layers, laid open where the case was cut. They fall a little differently on every case, so yours will not match the photographs exactly.
