Steel integrated-bracelet watch with blue tapisserie dial on a walnut desk

41MM STEEL · OCTAGONAL BEZEL · INTEGRATED BRACELET

The Watch That Made Steel Outrank Gold

Eight exposed screws, a bracelet grown out of the case, and a rulebook in the bin.

Before 1972 nobody paid serious money for a steel sports watch. Gold was the luxury; steel was what you wore to work. Then this octagon arrived — screws left visible on the bezel, bracelet flowing straight out of the case instead of pinned to it — and priced above the gold watches sitting next to it.

It was considered close to insane. Fifty years later every integrated-bracelet watch made anywhere is answering to it, and the shape is recognised across a room by people who own no watches at all.

The proportions are the quiet part. At 41mm across but barely 10mm thick, it slides under a cuff a chunkier sports watch fights with all day.

BLUE TAPISSERIE DIAL

A Dial That Changes As You Move

Hundreds of tiny squares, each catching light at its own angle.

The blue is not flat paint. It is a fine waffle grid stamped into the dial — hundreds of small raised squares, each with four edges that catch light independently.

Move your wrist and the whole face travels from near-navy in shadow to a bright, almost electric blue under direct light. Photographs flatten it; in the hand it is the reason people ask what you are wearing.

Over it sit applied baton markers — set on by hand, polished on top, filled with lume — and a date framed cleanly into the grid at three without breaking the pattern.

Eight Screws, Aligned By Hand

What it takes to make steel look like this.

STAGE 01

The Octagon

The bezel is cut as a true octagon, then each of its eight faces is finished separately — brushed on top, polished on the bevel.

STAGE 02

The Screws

Eight screws pass through the bezel into the case. They are seated and then aligned so every head sits the same way round. Misalign one and the whole face looks wrong.

STAGE 03

The Dial

The tapisserie grid is stamped into the blue dial, then applied markers are set on by hand and filled with lume.

STAGE 04

The Bracelet

Links are tapered toward the clasp and finished like the case — brushed tops, polished bevels — so the bracelet reads as an extension of the watch, not an accessory.

STAGE 05

The Final Look

Screw alignment, bevel continuity and bracelet action are checked before boxing. A crooked screw sends it back.

2-Year Warranty. 30-Day Refund.

Wear it for a month. If it is not what you expected, send it back for a full refund — no conditions, no restocking fee.

Recognised Across A Room

The octagon and the eight screws read instantly, at distance, to people who own no watches at all.

Thin Where It Counts

41mm across but barely 10mm deep, so it slides under a shirt cuff instead of fighting it.

Self-winding from the wrist. No battery, nothing to remember.

Why This Shape Is Copied Everywhere

The original is a five-figure watch with a waiting list measured in years, and most owners never see one in a shop. This keeps the octagon, the screws, the tapisserie dial and the integrated bracelet, and asks $899.

Frequently Asked Questions

check_box

Why is the octagonal bezel such a big deal?

It was the first time a steel watch was designed to be looked at rather than just used, and the first time the screws holding it together were treated as decoration instead of hidden. Every integrated-bracelet watch since is working from that idea.

check_box

What is a tapisserie dial?

A fine grid of small raised squares stamped into the dial. Each square catches light on its own, so the colour shifts as you move rather than sitting flat. It is stamped relief, not a printed pattern.

check_box

How does 41mm wear?

Wider than a dress watch but unusually thin at around 10mm, so it wears flatter than the diameter suggests and goes under a cuff comfortably. If you wear 40–44mm you will be fine.

check_box

Does it need a battery?

No. It is automatic — it winds from the motion of your wrist. Left off for a couple of days it stops, and a minute back on the wrist restarts it.

check_box

Can I swim with it?

No. It is rated to 30m, which covers rain and hand-washing. Keep it out of pools and the sea.

check_box

Can the bracelet be resized?

Yes — the links are removable and any jeweller can size it in a few minutes. It closes on a folding clasp.

check_box

How long does delivery take?

Ten to eighteen days to most countries, fifteen to twenty-five inside Iraq. Shipping is free, tracked and insured, and you get the tracking number as soon as it leaves us.

check_box

Can I ask questions before I order?

Yes, and we would rather you did. Message the page on Facebook or Instagram — a real person answers, usually within the hour.
