Steel chronograph with a diamond-set bezel and red dial on a dark walnut desk beside a fountain pen

37MM STEEL · DIAMOND-SET BEZEL · CHRONOGRAPH

Not A Big Watch Made Smaller

37mm, proportioned at that size rather than shrunk down to it.

The usual way to make a smaller sports watch is to take the big one and scale everything down, which leaves a crowded dial and lugs that overhang the wrist. This is drawn at 37mm from the start — counters sized to be read, markers spaced to breathe, lugs that finish where they should.

The colour was chosen the same way. A red waffle dial with navy counters is not a variation on the standard black; it is a combination almost nobody makes, and it is the first thing anybody says about the watch.

Underneath the colour it is a proper chronograph, on the octagonal case that has been the most recognisable shape in watchmaking for fifty years.

STONES AND SCREWS TOGETHER

The Bezel Nobody Else Attempts

A full ring of round brilliants, with the eight screws still showing.

Setting stones around an octagon is harder than setting them around a circle. The ring has to turn eight corners and still look continuous, and it has to leave room for the screws that hold the bezel down.

Most makers solve it by hiding the screws. Here they stay visible, seated between the stones, so the octagon still reads as an octagon instead of disappearing under a band of sparkle.

That is the difference between a watch that has been decorated and one that was designed this way — the stones follow the shape rather than covering it.

Setting Stones Around An Octagon

Where a bezel like this can go wrong.

STAGE 01

The Octagon

The bezel is cut as a true octagon and its faces are finished before a single stone goes near it.

STAGE 02

Seats Cut

Each stone gets its own seat, cut so the ring stays even as it turns the eight corners.

STAGE 03

Screws Placed

The eight hexagonal screws are seated between stones and aligned so every head sits the same way round.

STAGE 04

The Red Dial

The waffle grid is stamped into the red dial, then the navy counters and applied steel markers are set on by hand.

STAGE 05

Strap And Check

The rubber strap is fitted to steel end links, and stone seats, screw alignment and chronograph action are checked before boxing.

2-Year Warranty. 30-Day Refund.

Wear it for a month. If it is not what you expected, send it back for a full refund — no conditions, no restocking fee.

Why This One Gets Worn Every Day

A stone-set octagonal chronograph at this size is a boutique-only piece with a five-figure price and a waiting list. This keeps the diamond-set bezel, the eight screws, the red tapisserie dial and the navy counters, and asks $899.

Frequently Asked Questions

check_box

How does 37mm wear?

Comfortably on wrists from about 14cm up, and it suits anyone who finds 42mm too much watch. It still has sports-watch presence — it just does not overhang the way a big case does on a slimmer wrist.

check_box

Are the stones set all the way round?

Yes — a complete ring of round brilliants around the octagonal bezel, with the eight hexagonal screws left visible between them rather than hidden underneath.

check_box

What is a tapisserie dial?

A fine grid of small raised squares stamped into the dial. Each square catches light on its own, so the red shifts as you move rather than sitting flat.

check_box

Can I change the strap?

Yes. It comes on red rubber with steel end links, and the lugs take a standard strap change if you want a different colour later.

check_box

Does the chronograph actually run?

Yes. The pushers start, stop and reset the counters — the sub-dials are working counters, not decoration.

check_box

Can I swim with it?

No. It is rated to 30m, which covers rain and hand-washing. Keep it out of pools and the sea.

check_box

Does it need a battery?

No. It is automatic — it winds from the motion of your wrist. Left off for a couple of days it stops, and a minute back on the wrist restarts it.

check_box

How long does delivery take?

Ten to eighteen days to most countries, fifteen to twenty-five inside Iraq. Shipping is free, tracked and insured, and you get the tracking number as soon as it leaves us.

check_box

Can I ask questions before I order?

Yes, and we would rather you did. Message the page on Facebook or Instagram — a real person answers, usually within the hour.
