YELLOW TONNEAU · BLACK DIAL · COLOURED NUMERALS · AUTOMATIC JUMPING HOUR
Every Hour Out Of Order
A black dial numbered out of order in bright colours, inside a yellow case that curves to the wrist.
Most dials put the hours where you expect them. This one puts an 8 at the top, a 1 at one o'clock, a 6 at two, an 11 at three, and carries on round the dial in no order at all. The hour hand jumps from numeral to numeral in turn, so whichever one it points at is the hour.
The numerals are big serif figures that fill the dial to its edge, each in its own bright colour: red, yellow, pink, lime, a deeper red, salmon, green, cream, orange, white, purple and sky blue. The ones down the narrow sides turn to follow the curve of the case.
The case is a classic tonneau, 39.5 by 55 mm, in 316 stainless steel under a hard-wearing yellow PVD coating, smooth with a soft sheen. The black fluted crown at three is the only thing on its side.

THE DIAL
A Black Dial Engraved In Circles
Fine circular engraving, shadow numerals in the same black, and the hours laid over the top in colour.
The dial is black, but not flat black. It is engraved edge to edge with fine concentric circles, like the grooves of a record, and large shadow numerals are worked into it in the same black. They only show when the light moves across the dial.
Over that sit the twelve hour numerals in colour, white lettering under the top row, and two short lines low on the dial in letters of mixed colours.
There are no hour markers, no minute track and no date window. Two hands turn from a polished steel hub, both polished silver-tone and leaf-shaped with white inserts: the shorter hour hand jumps to each numeral in turn, and the longer minute hand goes round as on any other watch.
How The Yellow Tonneau Comes Together
A black engraved dial, twelve coloured numerals out of order, and a curved yellow case.
The Black Dial
A black dial engraved edge to edge in fine circles, with large shadow numerals in the same black.
The Numerals
The twelve hour numerals go on out of order, each in its own bright colour, the side ones turned to follow the case.
The Lettering
White lettering under the top row, and two short lines in letters of mixed colours low on the dial.
The Hands
Two polished silver-tone leaf hands with white inserts go on a polished steel hub.
Into The Yellow Case
The dial is closed under its curved crystal in the yellow-coated steel tonneau, and the automatic jumping-hour movement drives it all.

Why The Hours Are Out Of Order
A normal dial keeps the hours in order. This one scatters them round a black dial in bright colours, lets the hour hand jump to each in turn, and puts it all in a yellow case that curves to the wrist. It does not take itself seriously, and that is the point. It asks $799.
THE YELLOW TONNEAU SPEC
