44.25MM GREY CERAMIC · MOON RELIEF DIAL · NO ACCENT COLOUR
A Chronograph With No Accent Colour At All
Grey ceramic, grey dial, grey hands, grey rubber. The moon is the only thing that shines.
Most chronographs put a colour somewhere, a red hand or a coloured stitch, to give the eye a place to land. This one leaves it out entirely.
The case and bezel are dark-grey ceramic. The dial is mid-grey. The hour, minute and chronograph hands are grey, the three counter hands are grey, and the strap is grey rubber with two raised ribs and no stitching at all. White is kept to the print, the markers and the lume, and the print under twelve is black.
What takes the place of colour is light. The moon's surface is raised across the dial and patches of it hold a sparkling silver-lilac crystal, so when the wrist turns the dial glitters, then goes quiet again.

THE DIAL
Where The Moon Catches The Light
A mid-grey lunar relief, its sparkle heaviest across the upper left and in the counter at nine.
The relief covers the dial — craters, ridges and flat seas — raised so that it has real depth. The crystalline patches gather across the upper left and inside the small-seconds counter at nine, where the silver is thickest and the dial glitters most.
Between seven and nine o'clock the dial is cut open to show the grey skeleton movement, and a small sun-shaped wheel sits in a round opening just right of the centre. A fine white railway track runs round the grey outer ring.
The counters at three and six are grey with fine circular graining and white numerals, and the one at three has a white outline ring. Their hands are grey, the markers are white lume in grey surrounds, and no coloured square sits at the end of any of them.
How A Watch Stays Grey From End To End
Leaving colour out is a decision made at every stage, starting with the ceramic itself.
Grey Into The Ceramic
The colour of a ceramic case goes into the material before it is shaped. Nothing is painted on afterwards, so the grey at the edge of a lug is the grey all the way in.
Fired Hard
The shaped case goes into the kiln at high temperature and comes out dense, hard and half the weight of steel. It will not rust, tarnish or hold magnetism.
Brushed, Then Bevelled
The flanks are given a satin brush and the bevels are polished, so one colour still shows two finishes and the case keeps its outline in low light.
Engraved And Filled White
The tachymeter scale is engraved into the dark-grey bezel and filled white, because a scale is only useful if it can be read at a glance.
Every Hand Finished Grey
The hour, minute, chronograph and counter hands are finished grey rather than coloured, with white lume set into the hour and minute hands so they stand out against the dial.

Why It Works Without A Single Accent
A watch in one colour leaves nowhere to hide: the ceramic, the dial and the rubber all have to sit in the same family of grey, and every hand has to be finished to match. This one does it in fired ceramic, with a moon that sparkles, for $849.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is there really no colour on it?
Is there really no colour on it?
Nothing beyond grey, white and a little black. The case, bezel, dial, hands and strap are grey; the bezel scale, numerals, script and lume are white; the print under twelve is black. There is no red, no yellow and no other accent anywhere on the watch.
What is the sparkle on the dial?
What is the sparkle on the dial?
Patches of silver-lilac crystal in the moon relief, heaviest across the upper left and in the small-seconds counter at nine. They catch the light as the watch moves, so the dial glitters one moment and reads plain grey the next.
Is the grey a coating?
Is the grey a coating?
No. The case, bezel, crown and pushers are grey ceramic fired at high temperature, with the colour in the material. There is no coating to wear through at the edges, and ceramic is very hard to scratch in the first place.
How dark is the grey?
How dark is the grey?
The case and bezel are a dark grey, close to charcoal. The dial is a lighter mid-grey, so the moon relief stands out clearly inside the bezel.
What is the strap made of?
What is the strap made of?
Grey rubber, with two raised ribs running its length. It has no stitching and no holes, so it stays one plain grey from lug to clasp, and it fastens with a folding clasp.
How do the pushers work?
How do the pushers work?
Press the upper pusher and the long grey centre hand starts to sweep; press it again to stop it, and the lower pusher sends it back to zero.
Does it need a battery?
Does it need a battery?
No. It is automatic — it winds from the motion of your wrist. Left off for a couple of days it stops, and a minute back on the wrist restarts it.
How long does delivery take?
