Gold-tone chronograph with a pale green Roman dial and a green stone bezel on a dark walnut desk beside a fountain pen

40 MM GOLD-TONE CASE · GREEN STONE BEZEL · PALE GREEN DIAL

Deep Green Outside, Soft Green Within

Two shades of one colour, framed in warm gold.

Put a ring of dark stones round a dark dial and the face disappears into its frame. Put it round a pale one and the ring has something to stand against.

This watch takes the second route. The bezel is a full ring of deep green baguette stones, rich enough to look almost black in shadow and bright green where the light meets a facet. The dial underneath is a soft, pale mint green: smooth, even and calm.

The gold ties the two together. A polished gold-tone case, gold-tone numerals, gold hands and gold rings round the counters, all warming the greens so they read as one idea rather than two.

THE DIAL

Roman Numerals On A Quiet Green Face

Applied gold-tone numerals at eight hours, and counters in the dial's own colour.

The dial is kept simple so the stones can do the talking. It is one pale green from edge to edge, with no pattern and no texture to compete with the bezel.

On it sit applied Roman numerals in polished gold tone, at one, two, four, five, seven, eight, ten and eleven. The four is written IIII, the old watchmaker's way. At three, six and nine, where the counters reach the edge, small square gold markers take over.

The three counters are the same pale green as the dial, each inside a slim gold ring with a thin black inner circle and black numerals — marked to twelve at nine, to thirty at three and to sixty at six.

How The Two Greens Are Brought Together

A dark ring and a pale dial, each chosen so the other looks right.

STAGE 01

Stones Matched

Green stones vary in depth from one to the next. The baguettes for the bezel are matched so the finished ring reads as one even green all the way round.

STAGE 02

The Ring Set

Each stone is step-cut and set edge to edge against a polished gold-tone rim, with nothing engraved or printed between them.

STAGE 03

A Pale Dial Chosen

The dial is a smooth, even mint green, kept several shades lighter than the stones so the face stays open and easy to read.

STAGE 04

Numerals Applied

Gold-tone Roman numerals are laid on at eight hours, the four written IIII, with square markers at three, six and nine around three pale green counters.

STAGE 05

Green Leather

The watch is fitted to a green lizard-grain leather strap, stitched in green and lined in cream, on a gold-tone folding clasp.

2-Year Warranty. 30-Day Refund.

Why The Green Works

A ring of stones and a dial only flatter each other when they are chosen together, not one after the other. This one was made that way, and it is yours for $999.

Frequently Asked Questions

check_box

What are the stones on the bezel?

Green stones, step-cut into baguettes and set edge to edge in a single ring. They are a deep, saturated green that flashes brighter where the light meets a facet.

check_box

Are there stones anywhere else on the case?

No. The lugs, crown guards and case sides are plain polished gold tone. Keeping the stones to the bezel is what makes the ring stand out.

check_box

Is the dial the same green as the stones?

No, and that is deliberate. The dial is a soft, pale mint green, several shades lighter than the stones, so the ring frames the face rather than swallowing it.

check_box

What is the strap?

Green leather with a lizard grain of small rounded scales, stitched in green and lined in cream, closing on a gold-tone folding clasp.

check_box

What size is it?

40 mm across. It is a unisex size: substantial on a man's wrist, and not oversized on a woman's.

check_box

What movement does it use?

A high-precision automatic chronograph movement. It winds itself as you wear it, needs no battery, and the chronograph starts, stops and resets from the two pushers.

check_box

Does it need a battery?

No. It is automatic — it winds from the motion of your wrist. Left off for a couple of days it stops, and a minute back on the wrist restarts it.

check_box

How long does delivery take?

Ten to eighteen days to most countries, fifteen to twenty-five inside Iraq. Shipping is free, tracked and insured, and you get the tracking number as soon as it leaves us.

check_box

Can I ask questions before I order?

Yes, and we would rather you did. Message the page on Facebook or Instagram — a real person answers, usually within the hour.
