41MM FORGED CARBON · 85 GRAMS · DATE
Eighty-Five Grams Of Octagonal Sports Watch
Pick it up and the weight is the first surprise.
An octagonal sports watch this size normally arrives with some heft — that is part of how it announces itself, and part of why people stop wearing one.
This one weighs eighty-five grams complete. The case, the lug tops and the dial are all forged carbon and the strap is rubber, so there is very little dense material anywhere in it. On the wrist it stops registering within a minute.
What you lose in weight you keep in presence. The grey carbon marbling runs differently through every panel, so the pattern on the dial does not repeat the pattern on the flanks, and no two of these watches look the same twice.

THE RED
One Line Of Red, All The Way Round The Case
Between the bezel and the back — the only structural colour on the watch.
Almost all the red on this watch is small and placed: short marks at the hours, the seconds hand, a frame around the date, inlays in the crown. Each one is there to be found rather than seen.
The exception runs round the middle of the case. A thin red line sits between the matte black bezel and the black caseback, the whole way round, and it is the one piece of colour built into the watch rather than printed on it. From straight on you will not notice it; from the side it is the first thing you see.
The bezel above it is flat matte black on eight black hexagonal screws, set hard against the carbon grain underneath — a deliberate contrast, so the pattern reads as pattern and not as noise.
How This One Is Put Together
Carbon, then black, then red in four small places.
The Case
A 41mm case is cut from forged carbon, so the grey marbling runs differently through every flank and lug top.
The Bezel
A flat matte black bezel is coated and fixed with eight black hexagonal screws, against the carbon grain beneath it.
The Dial
The dial is cut from the same carbon and given a black chapter ring with white minute marks and short red marks at the hours.
The Red
A thin red line is set round the case middle, and the seconds hand, the date frame and the crown inlays are matched to it.
The Strap
A black rubber strap with a red lining is fitted, and the finished watch is weighed before it is boxed.

Why It Disappears On The Wrist
Forged carbon is slow to cut and unforgiving to finish, and it is priced for it. This one asks $949.
THE CARBON AND RED SPEC
41mm forged carbon case, matte black bezel and caseback, marbled carbon dial with red accents and a date at three, applied luminous markers, black rubber strap with a red lining. Hand-inspected, boxed for presentation, backed for two years.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, complete on its strap. The case and the dial are both forged carbon and the strap is rubber, so there is very little dense material in it.
Will my dial look like the photograph?
Will my dial look like the photograph?
The colours and the layout, yes. The marbling, no — forged carbon comes out differently every time, so the pattern on your dial is yours.
Is the bezel carbon too?
Is the bezel carbon too?
No, and that is deliberate. The bezel is flat matte black against the carbon grain of the case, which is what stops the pattern turning into noise.

No. It is automatic — it winds from the motion of your wrist. Left off for a couple of days it stops, and a minute back on the wrist restarts it.
