40MM · FORGED CARBON · SPLIT DIAL · AUTOMATIC CHRONOGRAPH
The Dial Is Split Across The Middle
White above, deep navy below, straight through the centre.
A two-tone dial is usually a centre and a ring — one shape inside another. This one is cut horizontally instead: the top half white, the bottom half deep navy, divided on a straight line through the middle of the face.
The navy half is finely embossed with a geometric pattern that shows only when the light crosses it, so the lower half has a texture the upper half does not.
A white five-pointed star sits at twelve, in the position most watches give to a brand name.

THE DETAIL THAT MAKES IT WORK
Markers That Reverse As They Cross
White against the navy, navy against the white.
A dial split in half has an obvious problem: a ring of hour markers in one colour will disappear on one side of the line.
So they change. The applied rectangular markers are framed in steel and switch colour where the divide runs — white on the navy below, navy on the white above — which keeps the ring of them reading continuously all the way round.
The three counters do the same job from the other direction: navy and sun-brushed, each inside a white ring, they sit on both sides of the line and tie the halves together.
Dividing A Dial And Keeping It Readable
Everything here follows from one straight line.
Case Pressed
Case, bezel insert and caseback come out of the press as forged carbon, the figure already set in the material.
The Line Struck
The face is finished in two halves, white above and deep navy below, with the divide held straight through the centre.
Lower Half Embossed
The navy half takes its fine geometric relief, shallow enough that it needs raking light to appear.
Markers Set In Two Colours
The applied markers go on in steel frames, white below the line and navy above it, and the star is placed at twelve.
Movement And Test
The automatic chronograph movement goes in, and the watch is run and regulated before boxing.

Why It Reads As Expensive
The reversing markers are the sort of decision that costs real work and that most people will only register as the dial simply looking right. Finished and boxed at $949.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why do the hour markers change colour?
Why do the hour markers change colour?
Because the dial is split white over navy. A single colour would vanish on one half, so the markers reverse across the line and the ring stays readable all the way round.
Is the pattern in the navy half printed?
Is the pattern in the navy half printed?
No, it is embossed, and shallow. It appears when light crosses the dial at an angle and disappears again head-on.
Does it need a battery?
Does it need a battery?
No. It is a high-precision automatic chronograph — the movement winds itself from the motion of your wrist.
Will two of these look the same?
Will two of these look the same?
The dial will; the case will not. Forged carbon is pressed from chopped fibre, so the grain on your case exists once.
How big is it on the wrist?
