Red forged-carbon chronograph with a red dial and a blue wheel sub-dial on a dark walnut desk beside a fountain pen

40MM FORGED CARBON · AUTOMATIC CHRONOGRAPH · RED CASE

The Red Is Not On The Case. The Red Is The Case.

Pigment goes into the carbon before it is pressed, so the colour cures solid with the fibre.

Anodised red wears off the high points first — the corners of the lugs, the edge of the bezel — and what shows underneath is grey metal. That is what happens to a coloured coating on a watch worn every day.

Here there is nothing on top to lose. Chopped carbon fibre is mixed with red-pigmented resin and pressed in a heated mould until the block cures, then the case is machined out of it. The black streaks running through the red are the fibres themselves, frozen where they finished moving when the resin set.

Which also means this pattern is the only one of its kind. Nobody chooses where the fibres go, and the same mould never produces it twice.

THE DIAL

A Blue Wheel, Spinning In A Red Room

Red with fine gold linework, two black counters, and a spoked blue disc at six.

The dial is deep red, drawn over with hairlines of gold so fine you only catch them when the light moves — a geometric web running out from the centre and back under the markers.

Two counters sit flat and black at nine and three. The third, at six, is not flat at all: a deep blue disc cut into spokes like a wheel, layered so it keeps its shadow. It is the only blue on the watch, and it is the thing people lean in for.

The hour markers are yellow lume in polished surrounds, and the carbon bezel carries white numerals with yellow triangles between them — the same yellow that runs down both edges of the strap.

How A Coloured Carbon Case Is Made

Colour has to go in at the start. There is no way to add it later.

STAGE 01

Pigment Into Resin

Red pigment is blended into the resin before any fibre is added. Get the ratio wrong and the block cures patchy, and a patchy block is scrap.

STAGE 02

Fibre Chopped And Weighed

Carbon fibre is cut short and weighed into the mould by hand. Too little leaves voids under the surface; too much and the mould will not close.

STAGE 03

Pressed And Cured

The mould shuts under several tonnes and heats until the resin sets. The fibres shift as it closes, and where they stop is the pattern this case keeps for ever.

STAGE 04

Machined From Solid

The cured block is cut into a case. Carbon blunts tooling far faster than steel, so the passes are shallow and slow, and one too deep exposes a fibre end.

STAGE 05

Chamfered By Hand

Every edge is chamfered and polished by hand until the red reads clean against the black. A carbon case hides nothing — whatever is underneath shows.

Why This One Gets Looked At Twice

A coloured carbon case has to be pigmented, pressed, cured and then machined from solid, and it destroys tooling on the way. That is why almost everything at this price is steel with paint on it. This one arrives finished and boxed, and asks $949.

Frequently Asked Questions

check_box

Is the red painted on?

No. The pigment is mixed into the resin before the carbon is pressed, so the colour is the material. Look at the flank in daylight and you will see black fibre streaks moving through the red — paint would be flat and even.

check_box

Will two of these look the same?

No, and they cannot. The streaks are wherever the fibres finished when the resin cured, and nobody controls that. Yours is the only one with that pattern.

check_box

What is the sub-dial at six?

The running seconds counter. On this watch it is made as a blue disc cut into spokes and layered so it holds a shadow, which is why it reads as a wheel rather than a printed circle.

check_box

Does it need a battery?

No. It is a high-precision automatic — it winds itself from the movement of your wrist. Left in a drawer for a couple of days it stops, and a minute back on the wrist starts it again.

check_box

Does the chronograph work?

Yes. The pushers above and below the crown start, stop and reset it, and the counters on the dial are the ones that move.

check_box

Is the strap comfortable in heat?

Yes — it is a woven man-made fibre, so it breathes and dries quickly rather than holding sweat against the wrist.

check_box

How long does delivery take?

Ten to eighteen days to most countries, fifteen to twenty-five inside Iraq. Shipping is free, tracked and insured, and you get the tracking number as soon as it leaves us.

check_box

Can I ask questions before I order?

Yes, and we would rather you did. Message the page on Facebook or Instagram — a real person answers, usually within the hour.
