This case has nothing to lose. It is one-piece carbon fibre, black through the material, with a grey swirl grain that runs across the flanks and the bezel like folded metal. Where the light catches it the pattern moves; where it does not, the case goes quiet and matt. No two cases carry the same grain.
The tachymeter scale is printed in white on the carbon bezel, and the crown and both pushers are black. Nothing on the outside of the watch shines, which is the point: every bit of brightness is on the dial.

The dial is smooth, glossy black, with a fine white minute track round its edge. On it sit three silver counters, each brushed in fine rays that catch the light as the wrist turns, with black numerals and slim black hands. Black dial, silver counters: the contrast is clean and it reads at a glance.
Eight of the hour markers are single round stones of high-clarity moissanite, each in a polished square setting with clipped corners. At three, six and nine the markers are slim batons with white lume, and the polished hands carry white lume too. One small word in red above the lower counter is the only colour on the face.
