Black forged carbon racing chronograph resting on a dark desk beside a fountain pen

40MM FORGED CARBON · 12MM THICK · AUTOMATIC CHRONOGRAPH

The Case Is Not Coated Black. It Is Carbon All The Way Through.

Chopped carbon fibre pressed with resin under heat and pressure until it sets solid.

A black steel watch is a steel watch with black sprayed on it. The colour sits on the surface, so the first hard knock takes it off a corner and the silver underneath shows through.

This case has no surface layer to lose. It is forged carbon — short carbon fibres mixed with resin and pressed in a heated mould until the block cures, then machined into a case. The marbled swirl you can see running across the flanks and the bezel is the fibre itself, caught mid-flow when the resin set. Cut into it anywhere and the pattern continues.

It also means no two cases are the same. The swirl is whatever the fibres did in the mould that day, and nobody controls that.

THE DIAL

Matte Black, Then Two Counters In Racing Colours

One red counter, one yellow, and a yellow hand sweeping a black face.

The dial is flat matte black with an orange-brown minute track around its edge — no gloss, nothing to catch the light and hide a reading. Then the counters arrive: solid red at nine, solid yellow at three, each ringed in white. A coloured crest fills the counter at six.

The central chronograph hand is yellow, and it is the only long line of colour on the watch. This is a dial built to be read quickly, which is what racing counters are for.

How A Forged Carbon Case Is Made

The pattern is decided in the mould, before anyone touches it.

STAGE 01

Cut And Weighed

Carbon fibre is chopped short and mixed with resin. The mix is weighed into the mould by hand — too little and the case has voids, too much and it will not close.

STAGE 02

Pressed Under Heat

The mould closes under several tonnes of pressure and is heated until the resin cures. The fibres move as it closes, and where they finish is the pattern the case will carry for ever.

STAGE 03

Machined From Solid

The cured block is cut into a case on a CNC machine. This is slow: carbon blunts tooling far faster than steel, and one pass too deep exposes a fibre end.

STAGE 04

Finished And Polished

Every surface is worked by hand until the swirl reads clearly. A carbon case cannot be brushed to hide anything — whatever is underneath shows.

STAGE 05

Movement And Test

The automatic chronograph movement goes in, the pushers and crown are fitted, and the watch is run and regulated before it is boxed.

Why People Stop You To Look

Solid-colour counters and a matte black dial are a racing convention, not a decoration — everything on this face is there to be read in a hurry. It arrives finished, boxed, and asks $1,199.

Frequently Asked Questions

check_box

Is the dial glossy or matte?

Matte, deliberately. A gloss black dial throws reflections across exactly the counters you are trying to read.

check_box

What is the red stitching on the strap?

Contrast stitching down both edges of a black woven strap. It is part of the design rather than something the case was fitted to.

check_box

Does it need a battery?

No. It is a high-precision automatic — it winds itself from the movement of your wrist. Leave it in a drawer for a couple of days and it stops; a minute back on the wrist starts it again.

check_box

Does the chronograph work?

Yes. The pushers above and below the crown start, stop and reset it, and the counters on the dial are the ones that move.

check_box

Is forged carbon strong?

Yes — it is the material Formula 1 bodywork is made from. It is also far lighter than steel: this whole watch weighs about as much as an egg.

check_box

Will the pattern wear off?

It cannot. The swirl is the fibre inside the material, not a finish on top of it. A scratch in a forged carbon case shows more carbon.

check_box

How long does delivery take?

Ten to eighteen days to most countries, fifteen to twenty-five inside Iraq. Shipping is free, tracked and insured, and you get the tracking number as soon as it leaves us.

check_box

Can I ask questions before I order?

Yes, and we would rather you did. Message the page on Facebook or Instagram — a real person answers, usually within the hour.
