CURVED TONNEAU · GREEN CASE · RAINBOW NUMERALS · AUTOMATIC JUMPING HOUR
Every Hour In The Wrong Place
Twelve coloured numerals in a scrambled ring, and an hour hand that knows where each one is.
On most watches you read the hour from where the hand points. On this one you read it from what the hand points at.
The twelve hours are numbered out of order round the dial: 8 at the top, 1, 6 and 11 down the right, 4, 9 and 2 along the bottom, then 7, 12, 5, 10 and 3 back up the left. The hour hand jumps to each numeral in turn, so at ten o'clock it points straight at the 10, and the minute hand runs round as usual.
It takes a glance to learn and a moment longer to read than an ordinary dial, and that moment is what people notice.

THE CASE
A Bright Green Barrel, Curved To Fit
A 39.5 × 55 mm tonneau case in coated steel, with a white crown and a white rubber strap.
The case is a tonneau, the barrel shape: widest at the middle and narrowing to straight ends. Seen from the side it curves along its whole length, so it sits close on the wrist instead of standing proud of it, and the crystal follows the same curve.
It is 316 stainless steel under a hard-wearing PVD coating, one even grass green with a soft matte finish and no polished metal on show. The crown is white with a fluted edge, and there is nothing else on the flank.
The white rubber strap fits flush into a notch at each end of the case and closes on a glossy white pin buckle, so green and white are the only colours outside the dial.
How The Rainbow Dial Comes Together
A silver-white sunray dial, twelve coloured numerals out of order and blued hands, in a curved green case.
The Sunray Dial
A silver-white dial is cut with a sunray pattern, fine ripples radiating from the centre.
Twelve Numerals
Twelve large Arabic numerals go on out of order in ten colours, each with a thin black outline, the ones at the sides turned to follow the curve.
The Lettering
Black lettering under the top numerals, and a short line below the centre in letters of every colour.
The Hands
Two blued steel hands filled with white are fitted, with no seconds hand to clutter the numerals.
Into The Green Case
The dial is closed under a curved crystal in the green tonneau case, with the automatic jumping-hour movement behind it.

Why The Green Works
A dial this busy needs a calm frame, and here the frame is one colour: a bright green case, a white crown and a white strap, nothing else competing with the numerals. It asks $799.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do you read the time?
How do you read the time?
The long hand reads the minutes as on any watch. The short hand points at the numeral of the hour, wherever it sits: at ten o'clock it points at the 10, at eight o'clock at the 8 at the top. The hour hand jumps from one numeral to the next as each hour turns.
Why are the numbers out of order?
