The face is cut with fine horizontal ribs, and finished in a gradient — bright blue across the top, falling away to near-black at the bottom edge.
Because the ribs catch light at their own angle, the point where blue turns to black is not fixed. Tilt your wrist and it travels up or down the dial.
Over it sit applied markers outlined in black and filled with white, and a date framed cleanly into the ribbing at three without breaking the pattern.
